They are blowing out their archons. I have watched these two amps sit for months, this is a "Marshall" town for high gain according to one of their employees. I know I was leaning toward an Archon 50 head...but at this price it would be silly not to pick it up!

I am going to go back with my pedal board and as long as there isn't excessive noise in the loop (a common archon problem) I will probably be bringing one home with me!

I wasn't going to bring it up... but it looks like this rumor is gaining steam. And I'm still sayin, looks like there are some killer deals to be had on Archons!

I'd buy one in a second if I was looking for a high gain amp, no question about it.

And of course, buying new, even if it needs to go to PRS for the loop fix, it's still a killer proposition at a good price.

But since it's just a rumor, and since we have word from James at PRS that the Archon isn't being discontinued, it doesn't seem fair to keep the rumor going.

Actually, you never know, the dealer could just need to make some quick sales, and Christmas is over. Lots of retailers blow out inventory at this time of year.

Actually the dealer told me that they tried to move the Archons, but unfortunately in this town, the metal crowd have blinders on toward anything but Marshall, so they are on clearance to get them sold.

It was all packed up and ready to go to the dealer to try, and I got called into work! I will probably be going this weekend.

Sigh, didn't make it this week. I don't know what my deal is, worst case I come home with a 100w archon even though I really wanna wait for NAMM for whatever rumor reason. I'll try to make it this week or next weekend.

In another thread, Shawn from PRS posted that the Archon is absolutely NOT being discontinued. So if anything happens at NAMM, it'll just be some new model or other.
