So I know this is a Korean made dragon. Can anyone tell me about this guitar?

I played this guitar and it didn't stand up to an American PRS but it was quite good. Who ever picked it out of the pile originally knew what to look for. The electrical is on the far side of so-so but the neck is dead on and the body is made for smooth. I wouldn't trade my PRS or even my Strat for it, but it is a solid guitar. If that's what you want then that's what you got. Just remember, that when you are ready, there is nothing like an American PRS...

My question is, if they went through the trouble of hand numbering, why not write the serial # on there too?

Top carve, headstock shape, input jack, squareyness of the bridge.
That about covers it. I usually look at the top carve 1st, PRS is pretty distinct and fakes don't always get it right.

Gumby Santana headstock shape

As to whether this thread belongs here - I think that this actually serves to protect the PRS brand and do little to educate the counterfeiters. It is like Shawn has said, The only serious threats to the brand when someone comes along with a copy they made by completely tearing apart an original and measuring every piece to extreme precision. If they are that good at building guitars, then they already have a market and would probably just build their own.

These Chinese fakes are interesting in that I can usually see at a glance that something is wrong and it makes me look at the details. Once I start looking where the Devil lives, it becomes more and more obvious.

So, I think threads like this educate the buyer more than the maker. What are the chances that a Chinese fake producer is reading this thread anyway?

As to the Chinese enforcing copyrights and patents - - it is my (non-political) opinion that the Chinese Government isn't just not interested, they are complicit.

** On the off chance that a Chinese fake producer is reading this thread, I think I can safely convey a message from all the rest of the Forum members: "*#%~+!!!" (or loosely translated words to that effect....)
