... oops... So I like contrast, and these figured maple pickup rings were in the studio hutch cabinet... Now where did I put those natural colored lampshade knobs with the paua shell bird inlays.......

Wellll... they kinda draw visual attention to the fact that there's no ring around the middle pickup.

On the other hand, they rhyme with the natural binding faux binding, and visually de-emphasize the fact that there's even a middle pickup on the guitar, and that's also OK. And the black switch and whambar tips correspond to the blackness of the middle pickup, so the ensemble is defensible in that way.
