@Gigi asked me to post more pix of the snake that was in the pic with my guitar, boots and hat. This is a different snake (my younger male) but since the Weather was up around 70° so I took Colonel Forbin out for a couple of pix and a video. Cell pone camera but it does pretty good when there is good, outdoor lighting as far as being accurate.

Thanks for looking.

Beautiful. Does it change colors like a chameleon?
No, but they do get lighter or darker depending on temperature, mood, sometimes after eating, etc. It is to thermoregulate for the most part.

Are they docile or are they considered to be aggressive?
They make good pets if you work them from when they are young. Sometimes, imports come in that have learned to survive using their fight or flight instincts and are difficult to handle. And occasionally you get the one who's personality is just sort of an a$$ hole. But generally, even if they start out a bit nippy, you can tame them down with minimal work.

I think I’d study the color by mood.
Reptile body language is pretty easy to read if you know what to look for. I find it easier than reading mammals. A mammal's emotions are complex to the point that the body language doesn't always match up. Reptiles seldom do what is less than instinctual for them. Less complex, therefore easier to read.
