I had some heat-shrinkable tubes, and I wanted to do a test, it can be an option, a little heating and it molds perfectly. A transparent tube would be better and imperceptible, easily removed...

That is a great Idea! Does it stay? Last?

I've been using various rubber bands and such trying to find the best solution. They do the job but need to be replaced every so often, some too soon.

actually good question, I just wanted to try something that doesn't alter the guitar knobs and not permanent, is it durable? the price of these tubes are ridiculous! personally I don't use anything but if I had to try something it would surely be this.

A rubber band wrapped around the knob a couple times should give you some grip. I miss those old Ibanez knobs with the rubber grip.
