Slate Blue Stain - Rare, Retired?

Hey all,

I've been searching for any more slate blue babies. When searching on Google images, I've found quite a few but, on reverb and Ebay, I see none at all. Any ideas of what's the deal with this color?

Searching for a specific finishes in sales ads rarely turns up good results. If I get a less specific with basic colors it helps but more to sort.

PRS rotates colors in and out all the time. For a while there, Emerald Green was not available. (The current Emerald shown on the PRS website looks more like what they used to call Jade, which is currently not available. :shrug: )

Right now, Slate Blue is not in their listed available colors, and the Artist Pack of extended colors is not available.

So you might need to wait it out until it returns, or find a used/NOS guitar from a few years ago.

And yeah, as @SinSir mentioned, many folks do not list the color correctly in their Reverb/eBay listings. Look for "blue" and eyeball it from there.

Yeah, Slate is pretty rare, and I think has been out of print since 2010 or so. Also there's Slate and Black Slate (which has some green in it to my eye):
