singlecut trem w/early 59/09's bassy neck pu

I have s singlecut trem w/rosewood neck and 59/09 pickups that were installed with a free pickup upgrade when the 59/09's first came out I got them at the factory when the signature club was at the factory. Anyway the bridge pickup is great but the neck pu is really bassy and muffled sounding. Is there any kind of mod I can get to get more tone/highs out of it. Without getting a new pickup

Lower the neck pickup a little first.
