So to keep it short. I only played humbucker guitars for years. Can’t explain exactly why. Just never really gave single coils a chance. Recently redid my first guitar. A Chinese strat knockoff. Replaced everything but the body. Not sure how or why, but that guitar turned out awesome. It has the sound I chased for years. Just well balanced and clear. Can do almost anything. I don’t really use positions 2 or 4. But the neck is just fat bluesy awesome. The middle is well balanced and great for rhythm. The bridge is just ballsy, warm, and yet still clear. So it gets a lot of time.
Luckily I also bought a 594 and learned vintage style humbucker are also amazing. Then a mccarty soapbar, because you need p90’s also. And a 509 is on my wish list.
So long story short, check your meds.
