Would like to try some Lollar blonde Strat pickups in a DGT. I know I would have to route the middle pickup and I know this could decrease resale value but this DGT is really beat up anyway. Didnt even come with a case it's an older goldtop nitro finish and the finish is checked and some parts of the finish have even worn off. It's a relic prs! Haha . My question is how much of a difference do you think there would be in sound with these pickups in a DGT instead of a Strat?

The pickups in a strat are only one part of the tone equation. The maple neck, bolt on construction and 25.5" scale length have a lot to do with it too, as well as other things. Your DGT will never sound like a strat, but it might sound unique and cool. Plenty of people have routed for middle pickups in their PRSi, so if that's what floats your boat, let your boat float, but don't get caught in a moat wearing a coat made of oat, it will bloat and turn into a goat.

Yes, one must remember to note that the procedure for mods is never rote, no matter what change for which you vote, upon which you will dote, though that weight you will tote, and I cannot even offer a good quote.

that just happened, huh....?

Do it!!!! I've put single coils in a CE and a KL (neck position) and I'm loving them!

Dont you like the DGT pickups?I really like the singlecoil sound in my DGT and absolutely love the humbuckers turned down to about 5-7 in all positions. Not to mention bridge pickup humbucker on 10 with distortion.Bridge pickup in singlecoil on 10 is very twangy.IMO you have a hint how it will sound with singlecoils. If you dont have a strat i can highly recommend the Clapton model. It comes with the most important strat part, the vintage trem with a steelblock.

Looking for a 4th position strat sound. I'm probably just gonna sell and see if I can find a swamp ash special. Don't think I could go thru with the routing after all. Thanks for your help guys!
