My silver sky needed a truss rod adjustment after a couple of days of receiving it, since the fret buzz was pretty crazy. When I capo the first and press the last, my 8th fret is currently at 0.012

When I fret from 1 to 14 I can hear a buzz/rattle on the g string
open g and 15th fret onwards there’s no rattle

Same thing with the b string

thanks!

and is a bit of fret buzz all over for this guitar normal?

Such a slippery slope...Many factors...I usually sight down the neck to see how much/if any relief exists. Then a very important factor is "How hard do you play/pluck???"
Various answers on the fret-buzz thing, too...but I never mind a little buzz, as long as it cannot be heard through the amp.
But it does sound like an adjustment is needed on yours...Good luck.

Thanks. I spent hours trying to get it right but couldn’t.
Ended up dropping it off at a luthier to get a set up

.12 is actually a lot of relief ( IMHO ) when you do that you lower the strings in different places on the neck.
On any bolt on neck guitar check the neck for tightness
Set the relief and guitar to PRS specs to start then adjust to taste from there

Is it buzzing through amplification?

I set most of my guitars at around 4/64 on bare and 5/64 on wound, and around .007-.008 relief. Not exact, I have gone by feel for a long time now. I do hear fret buzz unplugged, but never hear it in the amp. I don't have a SS, but my 65RI Strat has very similar specs.

I agree, .012 seems like way too much relief for a PRS.
