Ok so they started off 6230 vintage frets and now they have the 6105 which are taller. I like them better than the vintage which are on my 82 Strat
Interesting.
When I bought my Silver Sky SE I was able to compare it to two other SS SE's and one used USA Silver Sky.
I felt that the frets on the USA model were too small and too low, like the frets I replaced on my real '63 Strat that i owned for about 40 years.
The frets on the SE were taller and much easier to bend strings on.
I'm basically a blues player.
So I bought the SE even though the used USA Silver Sky was available for a great price.
Now I'm guessing that the used Silver Sky was an older model with small frets like those found on early 60's Fenders.
Good move by PRS switching to the taller 6105 frets.
I've read that the pickups have evolved and changed on the USA Silver Sky too.
The used one I tried and compared to the Silver Sky SE I eventually bought, had pickups that sounded very similar.
It was an excellent guitar and one of the best Strats I've ever played, but it wasn't indisputably better than the SE I bought.
