Silly question about satin versus gloss finishes.....

I have seen some amazing satin finishes that have been glossed and look killer. I have also seen some satin finishes left alone that have faded heavily.

if you gloss a satin finished guitar would it prevent fading?

Unfortunately no, the high gloss top coat won't prevent fading. Some colors are prone to fade more than others. I think some shades of Blue are probably on top of the list

Maybe not, but it sure will look better. :laugh:

I tend to like satin on solid mahog/korina and gloss on maple
