For those of you that don't know... I've got an album in the works. This isn't some big studio production but it's a work of passion and determination (constructive criticism welcome).

In any case, I put a new teaser clip up of a track called Untitled which is largely finished. See here if interested (best viewed on PC/laptop and heard through decent cans):

I am really impressed and humbled by the talents of all of you posting your music here. I really enjoy listening to your diverse musical styles. I'm probably going to regret this, but me and my trio weekend warrior cover band are finally getting some gigs and having fun...got around to recording some practices and starting a SoundCloud account. Here's our first of hopefully many additions...be gentle.

That's a REALLY good sounding recording - excellent sound. How did you record it?
What acoustic (PRS lol?)?
Obviously liked the music too - solid guitar playing. Singing is AMAZING ... how do singers get grit in their voice like that? I really want to know.

Hey thanks G-man, glad you liked it. That's me on the guitar and vocals...I wasn't 100% happy with it, but my drummer and bass player demanded I upload it. It is mostly just a live multitrack recording of us practicing (our PA, a Behringer X32>FireWire to Logic), except for the vocals and guitar, which I recorded straight to my sound card. The vocals used a Blue Bottle B-0 capsule through a Manley VoxBox pre amp...no effects except UA Studer tape plug-in. The guitar is my Angelus custom CoCoBolo, 2 channels 1) Mic (Blue Hummingbird)> UA LA-610, 2) the internal pickup > UA 6176. I'm feeling my way around this recording stuff...hope to get some more up soon. Thanks for listening!

I'd be happy with it - I'd pay to hear live music like that!
Any tips for vocals? Love the grit in your voice (if you know what I mean) - I'd love to be able to do that.
Thanks for the gear details - Angelus sounds sublime!

After years of exploring jazz and writing Jazz and R&B tunes, I've decided to go back to the roots and started writing some rock material. (This forum and all the rockers here had something to do with it.)

I was a bit hesitant because I don't really fit in with the indie/alternative, punk, or post-punk crowd and my writing style may be as dated as my R&B style (which is early-mid 70's pre-technology stuff) but I'm giving it a go anyway.
Let me know if you think it could be relevant in todays rock climate.

My latest video, using my beloved PRS SE Cu24 with some upgrades, as Duncans JB & Jazz:

Hey all, it's been awhile since I have posted anything on here (or played, for that matter).

Now that my hand has almost completely healed up, it truly is nice to be able to hold a guitar in my hands without any pain at all. Even more so, after being out of commission for several weeks in that regard. Feels good, man.

There is some really great, talented people on this board. It's nice to see that the guitar is still alive and well, even in the era of Bieber.

Here's a link to one video from back in July. I used my PRS SE Custom 24 Floyd for most of the show, only switching to my Les Paul for the Drop-D stuff. The sound is tinny and far too trebly, but that's due to the position of the camera that picked up my guitar.

More videos are on our band web page, listed in my signature.

I'm looking forward to our next show in January, when I'll be debuting my Custom 24 Semi-Hollow. Can't wait!
