The moon is at perigee. That makes for some good photography if you are patient and have a fairly cloudless night.

Here in Carroll County last night, we had whispy clouds, but I caught this bad boy between them.

Canon 200 mm f5.6 125. Cropped only - no other photo manipulation in Photoshop.

I wanted to get some pics, but we have rain most of this week, and it was to cloudy yesternight to get any pics.
In fact it is like a monsoon out there right now.
I hope Paul has a safe flight into my state today for his meet & greet later today at my local store.

I live just east of downtown St Louis, in Illinois, and 'Super Moon' seemed closer(lower) last year. Had a nice clear night to see it last two times. Might of been different time of year. Dont remember.

We have snow at the moment. The moon the other night was so bright shining on the ground it turned night into day. Very cool.
