Should I let it go?

im thinking about selling my 88 CU 24. I dont play it much, and I'm thinking I want a DGT or something with more bottom end. I got a SC245 recently and I'm really loving the tone. I want that tone with a tremolo. I just hope I don't start regretting it a week after its gone.

Why not swap the pups and see if you get close enough on the 24. If so, you can get a set of SC245 pups easily enough. I even have a spare set laying around. Or put DG pups in the 24.

I can't say specifically about that guitar, but I've revisited some of my guitars after years without playing and found out great things about them. If your rig changes frequently, I'd try no to sell it.

Agreed. It's easy to lose $ when swapping guitars. Best saved for a last resort. But if it really doesn't do ya, swap away.

Personally I am quite enamored with the SC. I gots 3 now and am shopping for #4...

I have the OE 245 bridge pickup, maybe try it in the cu24. I guess the T&Bs may be a little out dated. I really hate to start changing things in the 88 , she's still a virgin.

Tell you what - send it to me. I'll hang on to it for a few weeks, if you find you're not missing it, we're good. If you decide you are missing it, I'll let the machine pick up the call. :D

I've said a million times if I'm not playing it, and there's something else out there I want, I'll move a guitar along...but...

Part of me says that '88 is a piece of history that oughta be held onto. I realize it's not a "Year One" kinda thing, but it's still pretty special to have one from that year.

I know, I know! I'm being very inconsistent.

I have an 88 Ce24. Original set up but with a replaced switch. It isn't a case queen with nice natural war scars. I don't play her often but I'm not going to sell it until I have too. If you don't need the money, keep it.

Wow. That's a tough choice. Old enough to be considered "collectible" by some. Especially if kept stock. However, as you indicated, the pickups are the older style and maybe new pup's would make it closer to what you want to hear now.

Then again, it is a 24 fret, and the other models you have mentioned are 22 fret. Pickup placement makes a difference.

In the end, I'd swap pickups to something else and see if that works as the first step. If it works, great. If not, then evaluate whether you'd miss the guitar or not.

I got it on looks... From what I'm reading about the pickups (exp 2012s) I'm assuming there 53-10s it's going to be kinda bright.
Easy to swap if it's not your thing.

Shes gone. Incoming 2012 experience guitar. Lol another custom 24 with different pickups 53-10s covered

Those Experience 2012 Cu24s are seriously great guitars! I don't think you'll be looking back.
