Should I be worried?

I’m with NO! NO! DON’T DO IT!

1) it fails the look right test miserably
2) Hotter where they touch than the rest of the glass
3) see 1 and 2 above again.

Others will have more to say of course. I just don’t like it.

Absolutely 100% do not do it.

Check this KT66 data sheet. At the bottom of pg.4 it says the spacing (center to center) should be no less than 3.5in, and this is a ~2in diameter tube. Which means there should be ~1.5in clear between the glass, minimum. You've got zero.

Not enough clearance around the tubes means not enough heat dissipation and the temperature of the area will just increase. Fast way to kill a set of tubes and potentially damage your amp in the process.

Thx. Well ... I was afraid of that, although 9cm between centres is still very close, but not kissing like in my case. The tubes are HUGE, was not expecting that :/ ... so I already have to say goodbye to my recently acquired JJ KT66's, damn you PRS for not thinking of my needs when you were designing the amp!
KT66's anyone?
