Shorter scale guitar with piezo?

Hello - first post here with a question for the forum. I really enjoy the piezo sound from my older HBII and would like that option on my next guitar also. I'm thinking that a lighter weight mahogany solid body or semi-hollow with one of the newer piezo bridges, a shorter 24.5" scale, and perhaps a rosewood neck would get a lot of use. I don't see any current models with a piezo and shorter scale, is there something I'm missing or is this more like PS territory?

Thanks!

Welcome!

That seems like a tough one without going PS... I suppose you could get a Santana SE or a DC22 or a 245 and put a piezo on it, that'll take care of the scale length requirement.

Thanks for the quick follow-up. That's a good idea to just retrofit an existing 24.5 scale guitar. I looked on stew mac and they have an LRBaggs tune-o-matic style piezo bridge plus a preamp for less than $300. I'd be really hesitant to drill extra the holes in any core model with a nice top, but perhaps that's a good PTC type project. Off to research what SE's come with a tune-o-matic if any...

Not a SC245, but similar enough, wardog did a mod to his ZM putting in a piezo bridge. He has a post here showing off the before/after:

Somewhere is a detailed set of posts showing the mods, including the battery and circuit board stuffed into the electronics compartment on the back, and swapping one of the tone controls for the piezo/mag pup selector switch. But I can't find those posts...either my google-fu is failing me, or the forum is hiding it. Or I saw it on another forum...
