Shipping Tape

Tell you what... I wanna know how some places get those big ol' brass staples into shipping boxes. (Avatar Speakers uses them, if any of y'all have bought a cabinet or standalone speaker from them.) Man, those suckers are pretty secure; no worries about them peeling away.
Guaranteed to catch the back of my hand on one of those! :p

We ship a bunch, as Mrs Aahzz has an eBay business. We've pretty much found that any tape sold as shipping tape works just fine - the only difference we've ever found is that some of them smell strongly of whatever chemical makes them sticky.

The stuff that Amazon UK uses is pretty cool, it’s seems to be paper based, with some sort of thread in it.

I prefer the Scotch Shipping Tape. Don't make the mistake of using packaging or moving tape. Shipping has stronger hold and can withstand the carton being handled less than delicately.

I usually buy a 6-pack of them when they're either on sale, or I've got coupons I could use from an Office Supply Store. Saves on a trip to the store, and home delivery is free.

I usually get whatever is cheapest (store brand usually) as long as it's marked shipping tape. Never had an issue with the cheap stuff and I've shipped hundreds of guitars using it.
Sometimes I run out of it and ask to use the tape gun at fedex....that tape is awesome...very wide and the tape gun applies it nice and tight.

I wanted to think this was a silly thread, but I've had some crappy tape and it really is frustrating when it doesn't stick well and/or rips all weird.

I think I've generally bought what was cheap, but it sounds like Scotch is a solid choice.
