I needed to redo the shielding inside the electronics cavity and purchasing that product is pretty expensive especially if you’re only doing one guitar. I found a yt video from Highline Guitars explaining how you can make your own using acrylic paint and graphite lubricant dust. I already had the paint and the graphite was about eight bucks. I made the mix and painted some scrap wood, and checked the continuity using a 9 volt battery on leads going to an led bulb as was shown in the video. With one lead taped to the paint and the other touching at a different point the led still lights up. Worked great, so saved myself about $50.

ND,

Good advice making your own conductive material from acrylic/graphite. No need for my guitars currently, but will put this one in the files for reference. Did Highline describe what ratio portion graphite to paint, plz?

EDIT: Found video. Thx just the same.

Yep and I’ll put it here, his video and the voiceover were a touch misleading. He said about an ounce of acrylic paint and 2 tsps of graphite but he is holding a tablespoon. I think this is a good amount as clarification:

1.5 TBSP acrylic paint
1 TBSP graphite
Thin as needed and check continuity before applying.

And I found it doesn’t need to be completely dry to check continuity. Tacky still works.
