I agree with the previous comment about the neck matching better with the violet as well. The blue tones in the birds bring out the blue tones within the violet finish.
 
Color's very personal, I "vote" for Solana.

And your birds would go just fine with it. As an example, here's my (former) McCarty burst with abalone birds.

(Honestly though, as somebody else pointed out earlier, the Solana will look good regardless of whether the wood decides it wants to be freaky with the stain.)
 
Ordinarily I’d say the orange one, because I’m a more traditional guy, but the violet is similar to my Northern Lights 20th PS Anni model - I kind of took a flyer on that color, and wound up really digging it.

When I watched the stain being applied, it was my thought exactly. Definitely an “aurora” of a borealis about that colour.
