Seymour Duncan Liberator?

Hi all,

I was considering installing a Duncan liberator on a couple PRSi (a recent custom, and an older CE) because I'm a bit of a tweaker when it comes to my guitars/rig, and hopefully this would save me a bit of time from having to solder every single time I want to swap out stuff- be it Duncans, Dimarzios, or stock PRS pickups in this case.

But... seeing how I'm not too knowledgeable on Duncan products like this, I figured I'd ask in case anyone here has had any experience with this one

I take it these will fit USA models with no problem? No problems fitting in with volume pots as-is/fitting in the cavity in the first place?

Would the Liberator work just fine with either the 5 way rotary or blade switches? Even both?

Has anyone found any other issues whatsoever with these Liberators? Be it hum, differences when rolling down/up the volume pot? Anything else I may have missed

Would EMG's quick connect work as a viable alternative, or would that work only with EMG pickups?



In the event that this possibility would be better off as scrapped entirely, oh well. But I at least wanted to see if this would be a viable option at all- at the rate I intend to change and experiment with different pickups, maybe this would come in handy.

I never heard of the liberator, so I looked it up.

Oh, whoops- I probably should've posted that to show what the heck I'm talking about. lol

Never had experience with this but from what I know, it's a system that replaces all the soldering, so I guess it'll be compatible with all the quick-connect-type and similar pickups. I can't speak for the other questions, but I doubt these problems exist, especially when SD is the company behind this product. :iamconfused:

Whoa! It's Frank Falbo! He used to be my guitar guy until Seymour stole him. Check the system out and report back to us, John. IDK if I'd swap out the HFS seeing as it was the pickup that made me ditch EMGs, not sure how the magnet is faced either, you could end up missing 2 and 4 with the rotary.

That's pretty sweet that he was your guitar guy/Chuckled at how almost everyone else picked on the neon yellow guitar he had. lol

As much as I like the HFS, it's just not vibing as well on my older sunburst CE, I'm afraid. Even with that, I definitely wanted to fool around with various neck pickups, anyways.
