Hi everyone,

I have a question about using heavier strings on my new Tremonti Custom SE. It typically comes with a set of 9's which I find really horrible to play because I'm used to playing heavier strings such as the Ernie Ball Not Even Slinky 12-56 on my older guitar. I haven't made any changes to it yet but plan to make the following mods:
- Replace stock nut with Tusq XL Nut
- Replace stock tuners with Schaller Locking Tuners
- Install Schaller Strap locks

So my main question is, do I need to make any additional changes in order to accommodate heavier strings on my tremonti custom?

Making that big of jump in strings, you'll need a full set up done on it. But you'll need to do most of that if you're changing the nut anyhow. Make sure the nut slots are cut wide enough to accommodate the strings. Truss rod, action and intonation will all likely need to be done.
