Ok so I just typed in the serial number for my PRS it is saying that it is was made in 2001. I want to make sure I am correct because the guitar that I was looking at i really thought it was a 2019 or a 2020. Hopefully I am wrong about the year.

Can’t really help without details. There are more than one set of numbers. A core serial number from 2019, 2020 would be at least high 200,000 - we’re in 300,000s now.

Is that the only difference between the 2001 and the 2019?

Pickups are the next biggest difference. I've never owned one from that era so not really the best expert to help. I will say that my 30th from 2015 always feels like a higher quality instrument than any of the later SEs I've owned or played. The 35th was the first SE I picked up thinking this ranks up there with my 30th. If I was being honest I think my 30th is every bit as good if not better than any S2 I've played as well. Might be I prefer the wide thin on it but it took me getting a core to feel I've upgraded..

Edit- All the SEs (besides Acoustics and HB) are now made in Indonesia vs Korea.

Well I am really not sure what to do about this. I thought that I was getting a 2019. That can also be why I wasn't to crazy about the sound. Is it just me the guitar is 20 years old. Am I just being petty?

Bird fret inlays, and the Paul Reed Smith signature logo, were only introduced around 2017 on the SE line. Before that, it was primarily dot markers, and PRS SE on the headstock.

I just looked at the pic you posted recently of your guitar- it’s a new SE.

You’re stressing too much about this guitar. Just play it and enjoy it!
