Hi, I have an old PRS CE guitar from 1996 bought on the second hand market and I bought an #ACC-4006 in order to change the wraparoud tonepros that the other guy had mounted. the screws do not want to enter the inserts. Is it possible that during the time of making this CE, in 1996, you used Metrics anchors?

Sorry for my english I'm french!

The studs should not be metric since it is a core model. I put Tone Pros locking studs in my 06 CU22 and they threaded right in with no issues. Look at the finish around the inserts and see if it looks like they have been pulled out. As stated, they may have changed them.

Ok I have checked!

the anchor were just a bit damaged so I passed through the anchors a 5/16 tap that I had bought previously with a bit of oil and then I put the studs from the acc-4006 and they fit perfectly. I used the tonepros key to put them the deepest I could and now my stoptail bridge is perfect at the right place. A little set up and my neck is finaly a highway now!
