Hello all, like the Staind song...'It's been awhile!'

I do have a question for the community...I have eyes for a couple of SE277's because of the longer scale length, however, I'd like to change one of them to tune to E Standard. I'm aware that I may need to change string gauge (planning on an 11-50 set). How much of a hassle will that be and would it ruin the playability of the guitar if those changes were made?

Thanks for the input in advance :)

The increased scale length means you will probably not only have to have thinner strings, but higher string tension as well.

I don't think it will be a physical strain on the guitar, but it will make fretting proportionally harder.

Since it is reversible, I'd suggest asking a dealer to let you make the swap in the store and try it out before you buy.
