Hello! I bought a used PRS SE torero for about 400$. Everything is okay but the action was way too high in the middle of the neck. At first I thought the truss rod needed adjusting or even broken. But after taking it to nearest guitar technician, he said the truss rod is okay but the lower part of the wood in 8-14 frets is internally broken, and nothing can be done to fix the issue. I don’t know what I'm supposed to do now, is there a way to fix it? Any help will be appreciated. The action is perfect on start of the fretboard and end of the fretboard, just 8-14 are unplayable. He said this happened due to the guitar being left unplayed and in tune for 5-6 years and bad weather.

Sorry to hear, I’d be heading straight to another know luthier for a second opinion

Wood broken? Technician.. Guitar Center? If so that barely qualifies to change strings. Take it somewhere else for a second opinion.

It all sounds a bit off. Plenty of guitars are kept with tension on the strings for many years—most all guitars are that way. It sounds as though it needs a truss rod adjustment. Find a qualified tech.

NOPE - post your location and folks here can set you up with someone who will set you up

Haha I'm actually from Bangladesh. Not many luthiers here. After investigating more, I think the neck is damaged beyond repair caused by improper truss rod adjustment.
