Hey guys! I'm doing a bit of research for my next PRS. Currently, I have a stoptail Singlecut (lovingly modded) that I'm very happy with! As much as I'd love one, I'm not in the financial situation to get a core (or even an S2) PRS. Being a big SC guitar fan, I've narrowed it down to one of these two. From what I can tell, the main difference between these two (other than aesthetics) is wide/fat neck on the Singlecut vs. the wide/thin on the Tremonti Custom and the switch/knob configuration. I'm comfortable on both necks and I don't really have a preference for the switch and knob difference does I've played a Tremonti Custom and was pretty satisfied with it. I assume the Singlecut would feel pretty much the same as my stoptail one. Have any of you guys had any experience with either of these guitars? Any advice or pointers are appreciated!!!

My bandmate has the Tremonti Custom, I highly recommend it. Thicker body for thicker tone, more control via pots for each pickup, and the 245 pickups are the cream of the crop as far as SE pickups are considered (IMO).

Plus, the quilt top versions are SEXY.

I'm with Andy on the Tremonti SE Custom over an SE 24 and 245, as well as the S2. Just felt the tone on the Tremonti more then the S2. If you have the chance to try them both out in person definitely do.

I had a singlecut trem and it was a nice guitar. Couldn't get the highs to sing on it, so I sold it & got a Tremonti Custom and modified it to death. I'm very happy, even though it's as heavy as one o' them Lesters. It sings to me when I play.

I highly recommend the Tremonti Custom as well. In the past I've had the SE Singlecut, both stoptail and tremolo, and ended up selling them.

The neck profile on the Tremonti Custom is easily the best I've tried. So comfortable it has become my main axe in the studio (with the USA Tremonti pickups and a trem block).

I have both of these guitars and just recently got the Tremonti Custom black/grey, so I haven't played it enough to really compare the differences in sound to the Singlecut Tremolo guitar.

Both of these guitars are really nice and I definitely like them both. I have been playing them lately, along with my SE Custom 24 that I just put metal covers on. I'll try to do an A/B comparison soon and post my observations here, but they are both great guitars in their own right and with some adjustments to tone, playing hand, etc., I can get them to sound very satisfying. I was just playing my Singlecut recently and was really impressed with how good it sounds.

The black/grey flame Tremonti Custom is really a nice guitar in all respects. The four control knobs are definitely a nice feature for setting the neck and bridge pickups separately. I use my tone and volume controls a lot, so having the four knobs is a nice feature, but there is nothing really wrong with a master volume, master tone set up.

Either one would be a great buy and a nice guitar to have. The black/grey flame Tremonti Custom looks super great in the dark color. I like to have a few black guitars.
