I developed a love of gold tops about ten years ago, after several years of acquiring vintage stuff. Combine that with one of my primary guitar influences - Steve Hackett - famous for his `57 Goldtop... a gold SC was bound to happen sooner or later. Should arrive in a few days, and if it turns out to be a good one - the plans are as follows:
- 1979 Gibson T Tops. Had this pair sitting around for nearly ten years and only recently discovered what they are. Going to put bare nickel covers on and see how they sound. Or maybe hear how they sound, that makes more sense.
- the Mann bridge. All the talk of what this does for Bernie, I'm thinking it should work well with a good SC245.
- Bourns pots. Because I got a bunch of em collecting dust.
- really thinking about some quality Kluson style safety tuners also. Love those things. The tuner buttons on Bernie stick out too far, imo.
