... and I would add that this metallic gold would make a great base coat for gilding. I might keep an eye out for used ones ;-)
I gilded many Strat bodies before and really dig the look, it's just a more fragile finish since poly/lacquer doesn't really grip all that well to leaves (imitation or genuine).

Real talk: I’m worried about the neck profile and fret size. My two newest made SE’s (made in a completely different factory) have been... not letdowns, but I don’t enjoy playing them as much.
