I drank the PRS kool aid, and it was tasty!

Does anyone have a shot of the back of the Paul’s guitar pickups? I have a chance to buy a set of SE pickups for a good price. The seller doesn’t know which model they’re from. Also, has anyone tried covering them? I’m wondering what size covers……….Thanks. They might go in an S2 Custom 22 if the footprint is the same.

I had pics but need to find them. The label says something like PTP4150 SPPAULS, something like that. I have put covers on em too. As usual, put some non-conductive stuff between the underside of the cover and pickup poles. Wax or silicone works good too. Didn't notice any change in tone either.

Couple things I've noticed too: there does not seem to be any difference between the neck and bridge. They both read the same (11.3k ohms...more or less). They also use different colored wires for the same thing on each pickup. Makes connecting them a little frustrating. I also found the 35th ani model had them too.

I will concur with Draconomics...they have a huge ohm rating (my notes are at home, but that 11-12k range seems right.

In most of my PRSi, they sound great, and hold up really well to my style. I find them slightly less mid forward, and with a little clearer top end than most brands. I’m also able to get a really good piano wire sound on the low E and A with my soapbar guitars. They have a really balanced sound when palm muting the bottom two strings. Heads always seem to bob when I’m down there. I think it’s due to the PRS and the string combination more than any special playing. Took me years to get “the sound”.
