I haven't bought any new guitars in a couple of years because I've been sticking with my modded KL33 for pretty much everything, and I'm really a trem guy at heart. So I was pleasantly surprised when I pulled this sucker out of mothballs after JustRob sent me some amber lampshades (thanks again, buddy!) and I can't seem to put it down now.

I'm not a stranger to P90 equipped guitars and have owned a bunch but man, I love these G&B P-90's, they're perfect! They have that cool balance of a well-crafted pickup and a slight microphonic "jankyness" that makes 'em sound so great.

My last P90 guitar (90's LPJ) was so smooth and mellow sounding that I couldn't really find too many places where I'd want to use it over the other guitars I had at the time. This one has got such a wide pallet of tones to it, from full out rocker to twangy Johnny Marr Jaguar-esque sounds when I play closer to that stock SE bridge... Maybe I forgot what a nice guitar this is? Maybe it's the new knobs?

Who else loves their stock SE P90's?

Yeah, it rocks. Currently set up for slide!

I've got a Soapbar II that kicks major ass. All mahog and full of that pretty p90 hog twang and grit. Makes me want more p90s.

I have 3 SE P-90 Singlecuts, all with different modifications. They get played a lot. I agree with Sergio on the pickups, but maybe not his fashion sense. That`s something I`ll have to strive for in guitars.

Every time I stage for some mods on my One, someone goes and reminds me why I love the stock sound of this guitar. Now, I'm hesitating.

My plans are to swap the P-90 for an old Gibson mini humbucker over the holiday break. The only concern is that if I really love it, I'll want to gig it, and those late '70s mini hummers are prone to microphonics, big time.

Meh, I'll just do it. It can always go back to stock in a few minutes. Serg is such the inspiration!

That looks great! It reminds me of what mine used to look like.

What happened to Frankenfruter? Gonna miss seeing him here...

Frankfurter will be back next Halloween!

This was a Soapbar II as well. I can't believe how cheap these can be picked up for! I keep lookin' at those semi hollow SE's with P90's too.

Love me some P-90s. That's just such a cool guitar, Serg.

Agreed! and thank you, It is such a cool guitar even if I say so myself. You know, it started out as a guitar that was purely for the look but wound up sounding ridiculously nice. Even an 1/8" of vinyl glued on to the top can't stop the cool tones! It's also the only guitar I've ever had that I could use to pick up women with (guys are way to easy... they like every guitar).

Love the P-90 in my SE One:top:

I gotta get my hands on a One, never tried them.

Oh yeah? Which ones you got?

While this one is filled with stock SE parts, it's pretty far from being stock! I could see wanting to put a mini hum in your One, who doesn't love a humbucker in the bridge? That's where I was going with this one too. Instead I wound up wiring the bucker incorrectly and it turned out to be in single coil mode and I liked it so much I kept it that way.

This whole guitar was a drunken accident that turned out perfect... I'm not even sure which SE Zebra hum is in there. I pulled one out from the parts drawer and let it ride.
