SE P90 Nickel Covers

So does anyone have P90s with Nickel covers instad of plastic? How does it sound? Worth the effort to change?

My black SE245 needs something....it is just too mono-chromatic =)

I don't have any experience with metal soapbar covers, but you can always scuff up the covers and then paint them a different color.

Haven't tried, but have read they can rob a little high end.

You could also go for cream covers and switch tip with gold or amber knobs.

Ok....so I went and did some measuring and it looks like 50mm will fit so I ordered these covers.

Turns out they fit rather nicely after a quick polish!

While I was at it I decided to update the headstock, the tuners , the bridge...and the knobs.

I bought the Mann Bridge

Also while doing all of this i decided to make a slight update to the headstock. I was never a fan of the SE 245 logo so I stole the idea of another member and covered the headstock in matte black vinyl. I traced a picture of the headstock in Adobe Illustrator and then plotted that vector to end up with this.

Then from that I plotted a copy of Paul's Signature on some matte gold foil vinyl and that ended up looking like this

Now I added the tuners and my signature club truss rod cover and she looks like this!

Finally add about 6 strings to it...
