hi folks, yesterday changed my korean se cu 24 nut for a U.S wide fat/thin nut bought from prs, and after stringinging up etc spotted the high e string flat down on the first fret, and all the other strings seemed too close, to fix the problem i ended up putting a maple veneer shim in the nut seat on the guitar now the high e is 1/64th off the first fret, as are the B and G strings, the D,A,E are just about 2/64ths, does that all sound correct, or are there some other better specs than this, prs dont mention string height at the first fret,on their support site.
The two nuts look the same, all round apart from the korean one being hollowed out and the slots not being exactly the same width apart,as each other, if i hadnt shimmed it up 0.5 mm, it wouldnt have been playable, does anyone have specific details on their set ups i can use, thanks.
