I've had that combo of Wagner pickups in my Les Paul Studio for several years now. They turned that guitar into an excellent sounding LP with that exact "tone in your head" for me completely.Jim Wagner Crossroads neck and Godwood bridge. Absolutely slays in my s2 594.
Pricey but worth it
Sounds like a set of 57/08s would work well for you.
Great Pickups. I Am A Big Fan Of BKP. I Still Believe For Your Listed Musical Preferences And Said Guitar I Would Still Go BKP Black Dog's In That Guitar For What You Want As My First Choice. The Poly's Are Great Though. I Have Them In A Traditional McCarty And Really Like Them. I Prefer Them In Double Cut Guitars As Opposed To Singlecut's.I just read about the Bare Knuckle PolyPAF’s. They sound interesting. What do you guys think?
My guitar is a SE McCarty 594 Double-cut. So you’re thinking the PolyPAF’s?Great Pickups. I Am A Big Fan Of BKP. I Like The Polymath Pickup Better In Double Cut Guitars As Opposed To Singlecut Guitars. The Pickups Are Great! Still...In Your Situation, I Think The Black Dogs Would Work Best Based On Everything You Mentioned. I Have Them In Both Singlecut And Double Cut Models. Both Sets Are Wonderful And Would Work In Your Application. I Simply Feel, Based Off Of My Experience And Findings That The Black Dogs Would Be Just A Bit Better For The Musical Stuff You Mentioned. The Polymaths Are A More Contemporary/Modern Type Pickup. The Black Dogs Lean A Bit More To Traditional/Vintage Type Things But In A Much Improved Way IMO.I Hope That Helps Clarify. My guitar is a SE McCarty 594 Double-cut. So you’re thinking the PolyPAF’s?
57/08s are awesome on every way. However, I put 58/15LTs in mine. I am very happy.
This! Winning combo57/08 in the neck, 59/09 in the bridge.
