SE McCarty 594 disappointed

I recently purchased a used SE 594 McCarty for $500 and I’ve owned an S2, SE245, and a Custom Ten-Top in past years. I had the nut filed down because the action was awful. I’ve been breaking it in but I’m hearing some undesirable open and fretted notes. It reminds me of guitars with pot metal hardware to be honest and Imm really disappointed. I looked for an upgraded bridge from Mannmade but can’t find anything for the SE model. Does anyone have a link to such a bridge?

Thanks

OP I think they're great guitars but some SEs imo need a tad work sometimes....I have an SE SAS that came perfect but my SE mira needed work....I have 5 S2s that are perfect in every way if youre not thrilled how much are you willing to invest in it?? Maybe sell and grab something that's closer to your requirements...

I think it’s worth investing in. I got it nearly brand new with tags on it but it needs upgrades to make it play properly. I’m willing to put $4-5 hundred in it which I believe will make it a great guitar. I want to keep and play it.

I don’t think you need to put $4-500 into it. I don’t know who did your nut work, but I’d replace it and have one professionally installed and have the guitar professionally set up with your preferred strings. I’ve gotten a couple used that were mangled by the previous owners and ended up up being keepers with work. In both cases they were too far gone for me to sort out.

Almost all of John Mann's bridges state: "...all PRS Guitars including Core (pre 2017), CE, S2 & SE."

I have the Black Nickel on my SE CE24 to more closely match the black pickup rings I installed.
