I left my PRS SE Fredrik Akesson in it's gig bag for almost a year (I know, sad) and finally connected it to an amp again recently. It suddenly had a strange problem it had never had before. Both tone knobs did absolutely nothing and the sound was very muffled (as if the tone knobs were set to 0). The volume knobs on the other hand only worked like an on/off switch: Between 0 and 9 the pickup is off, somewhere between 9 and 10 it's suddenly full volume.
There's no scratching sound or anything that would indicate a dust related issue. Since both volume knobs and both tone knobs are behaving the exact same way, it seems more like a wiring/soldering issue to me. But when I opened the back I couldn't find anything unusual, although I'm absolutely no expert when it comes to guitar wiring.
I've never modified the electric components and I bought the guitar new.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Or any suggestions what to do? Thanks!
