I have been thinking about this for quite some time...
I have wanted a grainger since they were introduced, but just haven't been able to snatch one up. I think an SE version of the grainger, or even something more aesthetically similar to the guitar line (figured carved/beveled top & shape) would be amazing. I own an SE kingfisher and I love it, but I would kill for a figured top/all maple neck with birds. I totally understand that bass players do not make up much of their profits, the demand is just not there....
Even when PRS re-introduced the SE line with the new headstock decals, the bass line was left out in the cold. Just a big ol awkward SE on the headstock makes it look very "Beginner" budget guitar to me. Even an S2 version of a bass would be awesome, a bass in that price range with the traditional PRS features/aesthetics would be sweet! I'd pay $1500 for a bass like that, the grainger is just a bit out of my price range at the moment...
