SE DGT

I'm new to PRS/PRS SE. I'm thinking about buying a used SE DGT model. I played a used one at my local Guitar Center and liked it. I wasn't sure about the neck from my prior research but after playing one I find it works well for me. I prefer thinner necks. The one GC had was gold top and I'd prefer one of the flame top tobacco burst ones, of which there are plenty on Reverb. Is it safe to assume that all SE DGT models will have the same neck profile?

How do the S version DGT pickups sound compared to the Core ones ?

Chop off some highs and lows and remove a little clarity. That is how I compare Core and S pickups.

I always hear the mids are more pronounced on the core DGT and the SE is brighter.

All I can tell you is that I have one in each finish, and they sound incredible in my band's mix.

All I've done to them is change to locking tuners and new knobs.

The tone of the Core just sounds fuller and a little warmer
Although the S pickups can sound fairly close to the Core if you take the time to adjust the height and angles

Yeah, my sold core was very warm. Nice mids and low mids!

So I bit the bullet on an SE DGT from Dave's...

I'll soon know how it compares with the core model. Will definitely get a MannMade bridge and locking tuners!!!

I do a LOT of height and screw pole piece adjustments!!!

Daves is great, it's where I bought my first (used) PRS.

I also got a few from guitar center and like their 45 day trial period for used guitars so you get a good trial and even if you have it shipped in from anywhere in the US and don't like it you're only out $25 or so for shipping.

And reverb can be good but with more risk if you don't like the guitar.
