SE DGT first observations

I was a few counties away from home at a family gathering today, and hit a bar near our hotel. There was a band, and the guitarist had a core McCarty, some kind of semi-hollow body Yamaha, and a gold top DGT SE. I told him I had just gotten one. When they finished, he brought it to our table to check out. Nice guy. The bridge was decked…he said “it came that way”. Mine was floating, like most I’ve seen.
Bet he bought it used. Most of the used ones I’ve bought used were either decked or set up like a Fender. And always wouldn’t play well that way.

Got back in town today (well, yesterday now) and two of three core knobs were waiting for me. The last one comes in today.
I've got a week or more until I get two my guitars back, and will be able to swap knobs...but I'll be ready.

Amber Lampshades = tonal nirvana ;)

Those are great. Mine are a different shape, but virtually the same color. I really miss the invention on the SE visually, but the dark brown on the bottom helps immulate that pretty well.

Well, I got a notice that my DGT setup is finished, but since I also dropped off another guitar (and the place is about an hour away), I'll wait until they're both ready.
