...with Duncans JB and Jazz. Do you guys have suggestions of darker and fuller pickups, to play from blues to hard rock and specially heavy metal? If possible on the budget?

Do you get the sound you want if you roll off the Tone knob to 7 or 8? Maybe try an overdrive or some kind of distortion pedal in front of your amp?

Do you have any friends/colleagues that have "similar" guitars (like a Les Paul or something with HBs and glued-in neck, not a Strat) that have pickups that you like the tone? Have you had your friends play your guitar while you listen? (I find it difficult to judge tone objectively while doing the actual playing.)

From the SD website:

The JB Model humbucker is our most popular pickup of all time. It adds juice and versatility to the bridge position of any humbucker equipped guitar. With its hot coils, and alnico 5 bar magnet, this pickup delivers an unmistakable upper midrange attack, a tight, articulate low end, and harmonically rich highs that can really sing. The JB is the perfect bridge pickup for anything from blues & country to the meanest hard rock & metal.

Reading that, it sounds like the JB should be right down your alley. Maybe tweak EQ on your amp?
