SE Custom 24 "Quilt Top" Neck Profile not WT

Just picked up a new Quilt top and I'm a bit bummed. PRS and GuitarCenter both state that the neck is "Wide Thin", but in fact is the new "Pattern Thin" and there is definitely a difference. It is more rounded and feels thicker because of that than my old Custom 24. It feels closer to my "Wide Fat" on my Hollowbody ii Piezo. Thinking of returning it, because it hurts my left hand playing lead on it. Wouldn't think that since I love the WT and WF necks. Something about this shape.... just info for folks thinking of getting one.

Guitars made in different factories at different periods of time will always have different neck carves. My 92 Custom 24 has the thinnest neck I have on any PRS. My 2005 SAS has the thickest I have ever played on any PRS. It’s not vaguely reasonable to expect the two guitars to be the same. I’m sorry yours was uncomfortble. I don’t have a problem with any of mine and I have several from different years and factories, and I’ve had 4 hand surgeries. You might want to have someone look at your playing technique. I had to.

I noticed the same thng...

My SE 24 Custom Quilt is a little more D-shaped than my SE CE 24 and SE Swamp Ash CE 24s.
I believe it's due to the bound neck.

Mine is a '23 MY...

Same, it's slightly chunkier and more shoulder. I have thought of shaving it just a little. It's a great guitar, mine has Dragon II's. I would post a pic but.... 😎

I own a 2010 SE Custom 24 25th Anniversary and a 2015 CE 24 30th Anniversary, both with the "Wide Thin" necks that are identical. Now the bad news.
Just got an SE Custom 24-08 Exotic in poplar with the Wide Thin neck today from Sweetwater. It's beautiful and sounds fantastic, but compared to my other 2, it's like playing a telephone pole.
Disappointed and heartbroken, I returned it within hours. How can 2 Wide Thin necks be so drastically different? Nobody locally carries many PRSs to begin with, much less the model I want, so that pretty much rules out a "hands on test drive". Really want 1 with the coil splitters because the pickup combinations are outstanding. Thought I'd try to "tough it out", but why own something you don't like playing?
Any reasonable suggestions or info would be appreciated.
