SE Custom 24 Neck Issues?

I purchased a SE Custom 24 this year, which I love, but Im having a big problem with it. I have had it setup twice (two different shops). After I purchased it, I had it setup as the action was too high, likely from shipping. When I got it back from the first setup, it was perfect for maybe 3 days. After that I had major fret buzz at the first two frets. Take it to get adjusted and setup at another shop. Get it back, and its perfect....until about 3 more days later where I am having the same exact problem at the same frets. Anyone have this issue with their PRS guitars? What am I dealing with here? Help and tips much appreciated!

Might be an idea to ask the guys who did the setups what the issue was. I mean, if they managed to correct it they must have known what was wrong in the first place, no?

If it’s at the first two or three frets it’s likely an issue with the nut. If you can.t get any lasting satisfaction try a new graphtech nut . Plek setup will sort it all out.

While Robert 0005 is right to query humidity in your house temperature fluctuation has more of an effect on the guitar as a whole. Having said that... the neck will present more problems further up (toward the body) if indeed it’s moving with variations in temp. First two frets point to the nut as an issue . I,d be interested to know what you were charged for the “adjustment” at each of these shops that you mentioned and which of the strings are buzzing. Quick on the fly fixes often used on when a problem like this happens and you need to do a gig for instance is to just fill the string slot with something. Could be any thing from a cigarette paper to a mixture of talcum powder and a bit of glue. Either way they are short term and won’t fix anything permanently. A reputable guitar tech or luthier will replace the nut for a price that won’t be much at all.Hope this helps.
