Hey, folks. First time poster here. Had a quick question for all the fine members here.

Picked up a SE 245 a few weeks back and been on the hunt for a hard case. Tried out a few abs cases from various manufacturers that were listed on a few of the big box store case finder tools. While I found that they technically fit inside that case, none of them were a perfect fit. The neck seems to sit about a half inch to an inch off the support. It seems as though a little pressure is applied from the lid when the case is closed and everything falls into place...doesn't seem to shake around in the case or have any play.

It's currently in the SKB-56 case. I found a few older threads here and elsewhere with owners stating that's the case they were using. Is there anybody here that's been using this case for a while that has encountered any type of problem by using one of these cases that wasn't exactly a "glove" fit? Thanks for the help.

My two singlecuts (SE Zach Myers and SE Tremonti Custom) fit my SKB case just right.
Welcome to the forums.

I think one of the older threads I was looking at was one you replied in. You were using the Iseries case, correct?

Not sure, but this week alone a few threads have popped up by new members on this subject, and I have my case posted in there with the exact model number.
Just search through my posts and you can find the model number.
My cases from SKB fit singlecuts and the regular shaped PRS guitars.

If your looking for a cheap and more importantly "light' hard shell you might consider a case from Rondo music that they use for their LP copies. They are not fancy but they fit perfectly in my opinion. However, if you plan to fly with the case consider something more substantial.
