SC594

Anyone get one yet?
I do not have one yet, but have seen a few 'in the wild'. I'm surprised we haven't seen a slew of these out there yet, including PS and WL. Perhaps these aren't going to be as high volume as the DC? Or maybe just too early.

I've seen a few on dealer sites. I thought with all the 594 praise, people would snap these early SC594's quick. Curious on people's thoughts. I guess if no one's buying yet, no opinions.

If either was closer to 8 pounds I might. I'm a wuss these days about instrument weight. ;-)

It is funny how different people feel about weights of instruments. I am in the camp that close to ~9 lbs. is the right weight for the tones I like, at least with examples of SC style guitars I have played/owned.

I would also be more enthusiastic if the fret radius was a little flatter (12" or so) and that the jumbo frets were left alone and not this pre worn stuff.

My Avatar guitar, a Private Stock SC 594 Prototype, is the best guitar I have ever owned. EVER! ;). Three months in, and I still feel that way.

I don't think they will be nearly as popular as the Doublecut McCarty 594. The DC is magical PRS, the Doublecut PRS shape, and evolution over 30 years from Custom to McCarty to McCarty 594, and the best PRS model ever IMO, just perfect in so many ways.

The SC is awesome too, I just think in general in the marketplace people see the DC 594 as an amazing PRS, and the SC anything being a LP clone/copy. It's a shame, as it is an AMAZING guitar IMO!!

there is a certain goldtop at Sweetwater that has my attention. Someone please buy it. :)

Wow, those look GREAT in a Goldtop! Tempted!! ;)

I will get another SC 594 at some point, but right now I am very happy with my PS Prototype, my favorite guitar! :)

I figure they won't be as popular as the 594 dc, I'm curious if they differ much from the SC245/SC58. Obviously the bigger neck carve, different pickups. Was just hoping there would be more rumblings on the guitar. I guess it's early and not many out there.

That could very well be. I've read a lot of your posts on all the 594's, which is much appreciated. I'll have to dig back in some threads a bit. A PS proto is in a little different league though. ;):)

I haven't seen any that are a 10 top or better. Most of the standard ones I have seen have some of the worst tops I have ever seen on a PRS. The standard 594s have some nice tops even for not being 10 tops but man I am not sure what happened to the singlecut 594 models. The red one above does look very nice, not sure if its a 10 top or better but it sure looks like it.

I was wondering myself what the major differences are between the Mccarty SC and the SC245. I know the LT pickups are slightly different then the normal 58/15's, there's an extra bit of scale length but not much, and the neck shape is different, but outside of that they are almost the same. I bought an SC245 and a few months later they release this new one, I felt like I bought an Iphone at the end of its cycle for full price.

It's is, in fact, a 10-Top.

Like most, it's prettier under certain lighting conditions, but gorgeous from ANY angle. It plays beautifully, and is effortless. I genuinely feel this is probably one of the nicest guitars I will EVER be fortunate enough to own...and I want more of them!!!

I'm thinking 10-Top in Faded Whale Blue. Always did love that color.... ;) :)

I saw the Gold Top one also. The thing I like about it is the dark veneer on the head stock vs natural. Big improvement IMHO.
