I have an SC-58, the precursor to the current SC-245. I love everything about it.

That looks like it would be my only option, and I have floated that around in my head for awhile.

Thing is, the scale length and the thickness of the neck really help give it the tone that differentiates it so much from most other PRS models. So there's the rub; you miss that stuff, and it becomes something completely different!

I gotta say, I've had the 25" scale length SCs (plenty of 'em are out there!) and the shorter scale length SCs, and the SC Trem, too. They all really sounded quite different.

So with every change to the basic design, there's a pretty noticeable tone difference. Not that that's a bad thing! It certainly isn't!

But it does matter to the overall result.
