SC 58 Weight Variance

I have a lovely 2012 SC58, built to perfection and I love it. No mods or changes, apart from the Schaller Strap locks. Looks and sounds amazing, definitely a keeper. Does anyone know why is there such a variance on the weights of these guitars? I have seen ones that weigh just under 8lbs and mine weighs in at 9lb 3 oz. One thing I know is that PRS quality is second to none, my CU24 and SC58 are both first class. Why would all of these 2012 SC58 models not be closer together from a weight perspective? As these guitars are solid I would have imagined that they would all have been built from one lot of body blanks, so it is not a matter of adding weight relief to any of them. Not complaining but trying to understand a bit more about the build process.

Honestly, I feel like the last few years guitar weights have been much more consistent. That's not to say you might have a few here and there that are heavy or light, but I've seen a lot more SC 58/245 fall in that lower 8# range recently.
