hey guys im having a issue with my guitar, the bridge pick up is almost unusable. Ive tried to lower it i set it to the PRS specs, had it set up by a few guys with the PRS specs. It is very brittle and does not like the line 6 xt pro at all. I also have issues with it on my mesa boogie DC-5 it sounds overly thick with no definition at all. Its good if your just wanting to ring out E power chords.

I need to replace the pickups. I would probably replace both. I play in a metallica cover band, but my other influences are lamb of god, periphery, alter bridge. Its a wide range of stuff I listen too. I dont like EMG's so those are out, i know Hetfield has a set of EMGs.

I have the 57/08's in my sunburst 22 and those are good with tube amps but not that great with digital.

I was thinking of maybe the Alpha Omaga set, D activators, Pegasus set. Some thing along those lines maybe something around 11-12 ohms. Something with better definition.

Thanks for the help in advance

I have these pickups in some of my PRS Singlecuts that I am going to suggest and am over the top happy with them.

BKP Black Dogs
BKP Rebel Yells
BKP Juggernauts
BKP Aftermaths
Suhr Aldrich
Suhr Thornbucker+

I play heavy styles as well with a lot of gain and volume. I don't do much on the digital side. I like all the sets I mentioned but the set that really surprised me was the Black Dog set. Not a vintage set in any way and has an incredible punch to it with incredible articulation. Would work REALLY well for what you mention. The Rebel Yells are higher output and articulate as well. Very good pickup in singlecut guitars. The Juggernauts are great, versatile and work well with maple/hog bodies. Aftermaths are really tight and I love them but they are hotter than what you say you may be wanting. Again, I can't recommend the Black Dogs enough for what you are describing. Good luck!

Cool thank you I'll definitely check these out. I had a rebel yell in a LP studio i had and remember really liking it

I'll second the BKP Rebel Yells....I have those in an SE Singlecut trem and they suit it very well. I noticed a lot more clarity and definition out of the bridge pickup, specifically.

I'm sure somebody here will be able to suggest some PRS pickups, but I don't have a whole lot of experience with core-model singlecuts and what would work well, pickup wise. I would think the Tremonti set or maybe even the "M" pickups would bring a nice, heavy tone...but that's just my speculation.

Good luck!!!

I have a set of US Tremontis in my SE Tremonti Custom and they work great through both my Eleven Rack and all of my tube amps.

I play a lot of different styles, but when it's time for modern heavy and high gain stuff, it is my go to (I also use it for other stuff as well....the pickups can be versatile depending upon settings).

Rebel Yells!
... just get them with the covers. I found them a wee bit too trebly uncovered.
