is anyone having issues with the bridge pickup? I have mine adjusted to spec and it's so muddy that I reach for a different guitar. I don't have this issue with any of my others including the other Prs i have ( sunburst 22 57/08).

I'm guessing that I have to lower it some more.

I put SC250 pups in my 25" SC and I find that the bridge is too bright and hot. I'm replacing them with BKP Cold Sweats, just like in my SC245.

Do you have the 250 pups or the #7? The 250 set is almost identical to the Tremonti set.

Just adding a alternate opinion. I love #7's. I wouldn't put anything else in my 2000 SC. Goes to show, everybody's different.

Completely true. I love the guitar hated how it sounded. It wasn't the sound I was looking for out of that specific guitar, so swapped them out and now to me it's perfect. If all guitars were the same and sounded the same it would be a very boring life!

Perhaps, but my wallet would be happier!

I put old 7s in a Tremonti SE. THe guitar tech called me because he was so excited about how they sounded. I did upgrade all the other electronics as well.

I have an SC250 with the stock SC250 pickups. When I bought it in 2008, I was going for heavy driving rock sounds. And those SC250s were my favorite pickups. But they are very hot and don't always get along with other gear down stream. They're very good at pushed Marshall sounds. But my fuzz pedals hate them. My other guitars play better with a wah, too. And effects that clean up well from other guitar's volume pots don't clean up so well with the SC250.

Sometimes I think I should update my SC250's pickups to my match my current tastes. Then again, I have a set of Thornbucker pickups waiting to go into my S2 that have been sitting in a drawer for months while I procrastinate.

I don't think dropping them is going to really fix it. I think you are just going to get the character of the pickup either way. Turning down the guitar volume makes them thin and crispy, not my favorite.
IMO, the SC250 and Tremonti pickups are good for adding punch and clarity to downtuned guitars with heavy strings, but too hot, bright and thin for standard tuning with light strings. I LOVE my Tremonti tuned to drop Db with a 0.011 set. Super clear and heavy, but not muddy at all.
