Do any models OTHER than the CE24 have the satin finish that I'm in love with??? Please say yes and let me know which ones. Thanks!

Thx, What models have a rosewood neck?

Also looking for maple satin.

Usually a limited run or special order. A good (used) bargain and a great guitar if you can find one is the Ltd run singlecut trem RW.

Here’s one I traded to Howard Leese. Great guitar. I took it to him at sound check, and he used it that night.

I an NOT the seller or current owner (nor do I know him), btw.

My 53/10 limited had a satin neck. It has the pf09 nitro finish. There are several other limited series models with this satin finish like the dirty 100s. I say it had the satin neck, because quite frankly, after a year of playing the satin became a gloss finish. If you want to keep a satin finish the only option is an unfinished neck line a rosewood neck, or something like a gun stock oiled maple neck

Lots of S2 Satin models to be had.

Another option is to use a 3M scrubber sponge to satin-ify a gloss neck.

Every guitar I feel like having one.

About 30 minutes with 2 grades of Scotchbrite will do the trick. Some car polish after that will be as slick as can be.

Hmmm, so this may be opening a whole new world of opportunity to me... Only thing I saw that made me pause on the Scotchbrite trick was a comment to perhaps avoid doing this Nitro finished guitars/necks. Agree with that caveat?

I think my *cough* LP *sneeze* has nitro.

I've done it to a couple of my PRS, and I couldnt be happier. I usually use the green scotch brite on my maple fender necks but for my black and blue PRS I used the grey ultrafine and car polish with more lighter passes.

Here's a pic during the work on the 30th to get the idea. I plan to do a post one of these days of the full transformation.

that looks like it would feel great. @SinSir did you use tape along the fretboard where it meets the neck wood?
And, what "car polish" do you use... like Turtle Wax :-), applied with one of those sponges?? thx

I feels great, I wish i had done it sooner. I used blue painters tape, 3 sizes, the thin one is great for following curves.

I used meguiars. They have a fine scratch remover that almost gives it a gloss again. Then back at it with the ultrafine scotch brite. I used compressed air to get rid of dust followed by dunlop guitar cleaner. I used the wax for the final stage.

Here's the Cu24 blue neck, I tried to wet sand some of the dreaded bubbles (the white spots) that were already there, but didn't go crazy since they don't affect feel or playability. You can see how the fretboard line turned out. I did this one the same way besides the slight wet sanding.

Wow, that is super helpful to see the specific steps and taping. I have a guitar that is let's say lower in the stack that I'll try this with first.... Thanks again!

You can go at it on nitro, too. I did it on my 594, Dirty 100 and DGT. My hands don’t like nitro.....sticky.
