I've owned my SAS SE for about 8 months now and it's a good guitar overall, but I've been noticing more and more that the OEM pickups are just lacking, especially when compared to all of my other guitars. There's just a lack of clear articulation in them and the bridge pickup especially seems low output compared to the neck.
Has anyone else swapped out their stock SAS SE pickups for something...better...than the 8515S?

What kind of music do you play OP??

Everything from Motown to modern pop, rock, R&B, country, metal and a little jazz. I play a lot of acoustic gigs, too, but the Taylor has got those covered.
I've played gigs with the SAS SE and its been the primary guitar, which is fine, but then I pull out my Les Paul or Tele and the Sassy sounds lacking, like less punch, definition and clarity than either of the other two.
I've played gigs with the SAS SE and my Vernon Reid Vela and of course the HFS pickups slaughter the ones in the SE, as expected, but I'm hoping that swapping the humbuckers out for something better will give a little more sparkle and punch to the guitar?

Well I have an S2 standard 22 with BK mules that's sounds great for all the styles I play...I have another with a JB/ 59 combo that I'm also enjoying...the BK pups are thicker and clearer though...the PRS USA made pups im not too familiar with...the Duncan offerings are fairly cheap check em out...

Here's a cool thing! I just went searching through my spare parts and found a Duncan SH-2 and SH-4 set that I pulled out of an ESP guitar years ago, so maybe I'll pop those in the SAS SE and see what happens.
